new pictures

Some pictures I took today...

Darlene getting to brave the cold to go to visit a lady in Los Olivos tonight:

Me bundled up ready to go. I kid you not, it is FREEZING.

Los Olivos, the very poor area where Darlene works in the church plant "Encuentro con Cristo" (Encounter with Christ--an ABWE baptist church plant). This is across the street from the lady we visited today. Pray for Vicky who wanted to kill herself yesterday and is very depressed. She is still in a abusive marriage, although now seperated from her husband to some extent (he now lives below her). She is also a struggling alcoholic, and a new Christian. Pray for her!!!!!

Candy and chocolate skulls for sale at Wal-Mart tonight. These are used in the mexican celebration of "Day of the Dead". These are used in the idolization and worship of dead ancestors. They are laid out as an offering for the dead ancestors, to interceed for their souls and to plead with them.

As you can see, there is a lot to be praying for these days. Pray for Los Olivos, for Vicky and her daughter Claudia. Pray for Mexico on a whole as they have this holiday that is dedicated to the worship of death and dead ancestors! And...pray it gets warmer soon:)
