Two prayer requests from this morning's chapel and from yesterday:
Kate and Alan Mackey: a family here in the institute. Alan is completely blind, and Kate was rushed to the Emergency room yesterday with a blood clot on her heart. It has passed to her lungs, but they cannot do surgery because she is prone to bleeding easily. The situation is still at a very life-threatening level. Please pray for Kate. They have two boys ages 8 and 10, and Alan, is left to care for them and get to and from the hospital and manage everything here in San Jose, but he is blind. Please pray. Pray that those of in the institute will step up in love as family in Christ and carry much of the burden for this family.
The institute was also robbed last weekend, and it was done by professionals, so there was no trace left. They stole many checks and were able to get them all cashed at different banks throughout Costa Rica. They also did it at the end of the month, timed so the institute's bank accounts would be full. Today our director announced the estimated loss is over $40,000 US dollars. This is very huge and very tragic. Please pray for the institute and that the police would somehow catch these guys to keep them from doing this to others.
Thank you for taking these requests before our God. I'll post an update on either situation, but especially Kate, as soon as possible.
