Well, the wedding's over! It was truly beautiful...exactly what I would have pictured for Heather. It was a memorable evening and it was truly a pleasure to come home and be in this wedding. I have to say I'm incredibly exhausted and ready to get back to Costa Rica, just so I'll be back on my normal schedule.
It was good to see many, many people from my church tonight, and talk to many of them about how things are going in Costa Rica. It was great to tell them that thanks to their prayers, I have definitely gotten over the slight home sick/stressed/culture bump in the road I experienced back in January. One man tonight asked me if coming home would make me go through that all over again, and I have to say, no I don't think so. If anything, my Spanish will be next to horrible on Monday, but other than that, I think I will be okay. If anything, its been hard being here, because everything seems so weird, out of place, or different. For instance, just to live in a house that is not barred and does not have a big gate. Yesterday I was using my computer at night downstairs, and it was about 1 am, and I was thinking, people outside can see this and will know I have a computer...then I remembered I am not in San Jose. Or there was when I went to get in my car to go somewhere the day before, and locked all the doors, but then when I got outside I still had my keys and was sort of pacing around until it set in my mind that there were no gates and multiple locks to worry about. Life here is definitely a night and day difference than my life in Latin America. I am ready to go back Monday morning.
I am thankful to God for giving the chance to come home and see my best friend married. I know she is in good hands with her new husband, Ben, and I am excited for the life that God will give them both together. It was a blessing.
Tomorrow I will have the joy of going to church at my home (sending) church. This will be awesome, as well, of course.
Pray for me as I fly back into San Jose Monday from 7 am to 2:24 pm (when I arrive!).
Chao...
Bethany
