Available

God does not look for the person with the most skill, the most gifts, the greatest talents, the largest bank account, or the most profound intelect. God looks for available followers.

God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise

God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty

and the base things of the world and the things which are despised

GOD HAS CHOSEN

and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

that no flesh should glory in His presence.

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God--and righteousness and sanctification and redemption--

that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD."

Today I got a phone call from a fellow missionary who met up with a 16 year old teenage girl who wants to learn more English. She wants to bring her 4 teenage girl friends with her. They live here in my neighborhood, and run a quesadilla stand. My missionary teammate was asking if I would be interested in taking on this ministry.

I am reminded today that our purpose does not come in the education, training, or knowledge that we have. It does not come in the countless hours of preparation we put in before we "arrive" to the ministry God has called us to. Our purpose comes in becoming humbled vessles, willing to do whatever job God brings to us. There are innumerable opportunities to serve and be used if we just make ourselves available.

The needs of this world are so infinite and overwhelming. I am learning that to be used for God's purposes and to show His glory, we must humble ourselves to become even the base things of this world--that He can use us to truly show HIS glory.

Please keep in prayer this new ministry opportunity for teaching these 5 nonChristian teenage girls.
